Dele Agbogun – PMP


Dele is responsible for setting direction for all operations of the company globally. He started his career in Nigeria, working on several gas and steam driven power plant projects. He later joined Shell Group initially based in Nigeria where, over a period of nearly 20 years, held various positions in Nigeria, the Netherlands and the USA. Throughout his career with Shell, he has been engaged in managing multi-billion $ projects in the upstream oil and gas sector and has acquired worldwide experience in dynamics of the energy industry. Dele holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from DeVry University in Houston USA. A certified Project Management Professional, Dele brings a wealth of knowledge of the oil and gas industry in the USA, UK, Netherlands and Africa, acquired through many years of industry experience including serving in; Shell Petroleum Development Company (Nigeria), Shell International, prior to establishing Bowalds Energy.

Wilson E. Balogun – MIET, MAPM

Exec. Director / COO – Global Operations

A certified Global Entrepreneur, Wilson is the Chief Operating Officer and an Executive Director of Bowalds Energy responsible for the business development and operations of the company globally. He has a varied experience encompassing project portfolio management, business development, strategic market development and Project Management Office (PMO) using prince 2 methodologies. His career spans across the sectors of Energy, Oil & Gas as well as Telecoms and international trade. He has held diverse roles in UK and the West African region. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Minna and a Master’s degree (MSc) in Project Management from University of the West of Scotland (UWS) UK. He is Prince 2 certified. Known for his drive and quest for knowledge, Wilson has attended many international professional and leadership courses, conferences and seminars. He is a full member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) United Kingdom and the Association for Project Management (APM).

John Gregory

John Gregory

Technical Advisor to the Board

John joined the oil and gas industry in 1969 and has worked in the exploration and production business for 45 years. He spent over 33 years with major oil and gas companies in a variety of technical and leadership roles ranging from petroleum engineering, field development, asset management and technology development - latterly as VP Petroleum Engineering for BG Group. During this time he lived and worked in the UK, the Middle East and the US as well as gaining experience of doing business with major and government owned E&P companies in a variety of countries.

n 2003 he co-founded and was appointed director of an independent oil and gas company (Focus Energy) established to build a portfolio of North Sea development and producing assets. The company participated successfully in the UK’s 21st - 25th license rounds and gained interests in UKCS blocks that contained marginal heavy oil and gas discoveries. It participated in the technical evaluation, promotion and successful farmdown of a heavy oil field while establishing strong links with the financial community, service vendors and DECC.

In parallel to this and as an associate of Ingen Ideas (a process engineering consultancy) John has managed several sub-surface, flow assurance, field development concept, asset management and asset evaluation studies for primarily small to medium sized independent oil and gas companies operating in the North Sea.

John is also an advisor to First Reserve Corporation.

Principal Consultant (Process & Tech. Safety - Global Operations)

Bayo is a Mechanical Engineer with first class honours degree and over 26 years’ experience working with Shell and other world major Oil and Gas JV operators. He has successfully completed a wide range of multi-billion $ upstream oil and gas projects. He is a Principal Oil and Gas Facilities Engineer with supervisory experience in Facilities Project Management, FEED, Design, Construction, Costing, Planning, Modification, Troubleshooting, Safety Engineering and Contracting. Well broaden in C2V and RTL activities, as well as Oil and Gas facilities operations support and production coordination. He is experienced in Process Safety, Safety Engineering, Process Design and Engineering, Interdisciplinary Coordination, Cost Estimation, Planning Interface with Project Planning and controls, and Construction Support. Further skills were obtained in mentoring less experienced technical staff. Experienced leader and facilitator of Value Engineering Reviews, Project Delivery Reviews and Technical Safety Reviews. Throughout his career with Shell and other E&P’s, he has been engaged in managing multi-billion $ projects in the upstream oil and gas sector and has acquired worldwide experience in dynamics of the energy industry.

Ty Crandall

Company Technical Advisor

Ty Crandall is our company advisor, he is an HPHT expert with over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is currently the Managing Director of Salos Sunesis Ltd (SSL), an independent consulting company which has provided strategic business services to several major oil and gas companies worldwide. He has founded SLL in 1996 and it is currently at the front end of international well control training, coaching, technical assisting, and advising. The company has been actively involved with companies from all over the world for well control incident prevention and resolution.

His exposure to HPHT operations spans for more than 17 years. He has conducted several HPHT Audits and Well Control Audits for most North Sea Operators. His most current HPHT projects are the following:

  • Technical Advisor, British Gas North Sea HPHT Well

Ty has also served as world-wide Training Manager at Aberdeen Drilling Schools (ADS) for five years. During his time in ADS, he has developed technical drilling manuals, which is still in use today. Moreover, as Project Leader and Technical Writer, he has also developed HPHT Well Control Manuals for North Sea Operators, which have both served as foundation for HPHT operations in these companies.

Peter Neal

Peter Neal

Senior Consultant

Peter is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering and also has an MSc in Process Safety and Loss Prevention from Sheffield University UK. He has over 30 years’ experience in the major hazard industry sector. Peter has worked in design, projects, operations, asset integrity, and corporate strategy with the last 15 years specialising in HSE.

Peter’s skills include: developing and improving HSE management systems, HSE strategy development, process safety training, HSE leadership coaching, HAZOPS, HAZIDS, management system and technical integrity audits, project HSE reviews and process safety management reviews.

His career started in UK offshore (where he was an Offshore Installation Manager) and onshore hazardous industries. He has worked in Kazakhstan, Canada, France, Iran, Holland and Austria for extended periods with assignments in Russia, USA, Pakistan, Singapore, Australia, Romania, New Zealand, Italy, UAE, Norway, Nigeria, Switzerland, Singapore, Gabon, Iraq, Libya and Tunisia. He is a visiting lecturer on the same course at Sheffield University.

Peter has been appointed by the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers to be a Course Director for their internationally renowned program of Process Safety training programs. He has worked with many successful organisations in the international energy sector: BC Hydro, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Lasmo, National Grid, Petrom, OMV, Sterling Energy, BG Group, Afren, BP, Network Rail and Addax Petroleum.

Peter is based in the UK.


Tunde Aribido

Legal Adviser – (African Operations)

Tunde is Partner and Chair of the Sterling Partnership Energy Desk. He will be helping with all legal aspects of our business in Africa. He also advises clients on Real Estate and Infrastructure, International Commercial Law, Regulatory and Legislative Developments and Dispute Resolution. He worked in-house with Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited for over 20 years in different capacities, last of which was Country Head, Legal for Nigeria, Company Secretary for the Shell Companies in Nigeria and Discipline Head for Shell Legal in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has advised core business areas, including Shell Exploration (Aberdeen), Shell Gas & Power (London) and Shell Oil Products (London) and is highly skilled in the identification and minimization of legal risks and negotiations for the acquisition of business interests in upstream oil and gas ventures as well as downstream retail activities.

He has acted as Counsel on complex, multifaceted international joint venture infrastructure projects and transactions requiring negotiations with major international parties and government entities.


Israel A. Aye

Legal Adviser / Company Secretary – African Operations

Israel is a Partner at Sterling Partnership and Co-chair of its Energy Desk. He will be helping with all our legal matters relating to Energy, Oil and Gas in our African operations. Prior to joining Sterling Partnership, Israel provided legal support to major upstream and midstream oil and gas projects while working in-house at Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited. His last role in Shell was Managing Counsel, Downstream. Notably, he was at different times the Shell Legal lead on the Nigerian Gas Master Plan and the Petroleum Industry Bill. Israel has extensive commercial and legal knowledge of the oil and gas business in Nigeria.

In addition to his roles at Sterling Partnership, he is a Director at the Aspen Energy Nigeria (Energy Services and Consulting) Group and faculty member of the International Law Institute-African Centre of Excellence (ILI-ACLE). He is featured in Global Who is Who Legal as a specialist in the Natural Resources, Energy, Oil and Gas sector. An Accredited Mediator, Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution U.K (CEDR) and a Member (MCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, U.K, (Nigerian Chapter), Israel is an authentic communicator.


Andrew Remi - CEng

Senior Consultant - Global Operations

Andrew is a senior consultant with us, he has over a decade work experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He has worked in the UK and West Africa within the Oil and Gas (Petrochemicals, Onshore and Offshore), Nuclear, and Carbon Capture Industries and has gained a range of experience working on Detailed Design, Fitness for Service Assessment for Existing Assets, Modification, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts and Asset Integrity.

Having worked with major global Oil and Gas operators including Shell, Exxon Mobil, he has also been able to work for major Engineering Design and Nuclear companies which include; Jacobs and Worldwide Oilfield Services. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of various professional bodies including; the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Energy Institute (EI) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

He has a first degree in Mechanical Engineering with B.Eng. and a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering focusing on Energy and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde United Kingdom.
