Dr, Magnus Ekekwe has over 15 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry covering the whole project maturation cycle for oil and gas facilities from feasibility through to commissioning/start up and operations.

His career has spanned, R&D, operations, process design and optimisation, process safety, commissioning, front-end, facilities and project engineering, water, and wastewater treatment.

He has demonstrated experience in the definition, specification and operational support to oil & gas installations including water and wastewater treatment facilities having been responsible for the design and specifications of the water and wastewater treatment systems for several LNG and NGL facilities. He has also provided technical water consultancies to oil & gas processing facilities in the North Sea, Nigeria, Norway, and Kazakhstan

Have demonstrated experience in project support and delivery and experience working in and/or leading multidisciplinary teams ensuring that the teams are properly integrated, front end loading is sufficient, costs and schedules are predictable and under control.

Dr Magnus Ekekwe graduated with a First-Class Honors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria and started his working life with a 6-year stint at SmithKline Beecham Nig. Ltd in Production & Operations Management.

He then proceeded to do post graduate studies at the University of Strathclyde Glasgow where he obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering specializing in Bioremediation of contaminate wastewater.

On completion of his studies at Strathclyde University, he joined Shell International where he worked for over 15 years in several roles across different geographical region and have experience in working with multicultural and virtual teams. Have supported projects in the UK, NL, Nigeria, Canada, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Norway, and Australia.

He is also an Executive Director at Flourish & Associates Ltd, a UK based Health, Safety & Environmental Consultancy.

He is also the co-founder of African Language & Cultural Services Aberdeen, which provides a learning platform for African children born in diaspora to learn about their language and culture.
